The drought that began over the state during the Spring of 2000, continues, especially over the western half of Wyoming. September temperatures averaged 4°F above normal in the eastern and up to 9°F above normal in the western part of the state. Precipitation ranged from 30 percent above normal in the southeastern to north central regions and to 70 percent below normal in the northeast, southwestern to the northwest part of the state.
1.12 inches of precipitation fell in September. This was exactly the 1895- 2001 average, the 61st wettest such month on record. The precipitation trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.00 inches per decade.
The average temperature in September was 61.5°F. This is 4.1°F warmer than average and represents the 6th warmest September on record (since 1895). The maximum temperature for the month was 90°F on the 3rd and the minimum of 33°F occurred on the 8th and 9th. A record high temperature occurred on the 26th (85°F). Precipitation total of 1.18 inches is 7 percent below normal and is the 61st driest September in 107 years of record keeping.
The average temperature in September was 56.3°F. This is 3.6°F warmer than average. The maximum for the month was 85°F on the 4th and the minimum of 30°F occurred on the 8th. Record high temperatures occurred on the 24th (79°F), 25th (78°F-tied), and 26th (80°F-tied). Precipitation total of 0.64 inch is 32 percent below normal. Monthly snowfall totaling 1.9 inches occurred on the 7th and 8th and represents the earliest September one inch or greater snowfall in a 24 hours period since 1948.
The average temperature in September was 60.7°F. This is 5.2°F warmer than average. The maximum temperature for the month was 85°F on the 2nd and the minimum of 33°F occurred on the 7th and 8th. A record high temperature occurred on the 27th (82°F-tied). Precipitation total of 0.25 inch is 72 percent below normal. Total snowfall for the month of 0.8 inch occurred on the 7th and 8th.
The average temperature in September was 59.6°F. This is 9.4°F warmer than normal, and represents the warmest September on record (since 1948). The maximum temperature for the month was 91°F on the 4th and the minimum of 30°F occurred on the 8th and 9th. A record high temperature occurred on the 27th (81°F-tied). Precipitation total of 0.39 inch is 70 percent below normal and is the 10th driest September in 53 years.
The average temperature in September was 63.1°F. This is 4.8°F warmer than average and represents the 6th warmest September in 109 years. The maximum temperature for the month was 92°F on the 4th and the minimum of 37°F occurred on the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Record high temperature occurred on the 24th (84°F), 25th (85°), and (87°F). Precipitation total of 1.29 inches is 17 percent above normal.
The average temperature in September was 61.0°F. This is 3.9°F warmer than average. The maximum temperature for the month was 95°F on the 3rd and the minimum of 36°F occurred on the 9th. No record temperatures occurred during the month. Precipitation total of 1.75 inches is 28 percent above normal.
The average temperature in September was 61.3°F. This is 3.5°F warmer than average. The maximum temperature for the month was 94°F on the 4th and the minimum of 34°F occurred on the 23rd. Record high temperatures were tied on the 25th and 26th (86°F). Precipitation total of 1.10 inches is 17 percent above normal.
